Design your own lower third
Build a name plate in your church's colours in the overlay designer, save it to the gallery, and put it on Program with a name filled in.
You will end with a lower third of your own, in your colours and font, saved as a template and on Program with the preacher's name. About 15 minutes, no AI and no design tools needed.
Before you start
- A scene is on Program in the Broadcast tab, so you can see the lower third over a picture
- Your brand colour as a hex value, if you have one; the designer offers a palette otherwise
Open the designer
In the Broadcast tab, press Templates in the Scenes panel to open the overlay gallery, then Create your own. Choose Lower Thirds under For and press Design it yourself. The designer opens in its own window with a starter plate already on the canvas.
Recolour the plate
Click the plate. In Look, choose your colour, or a swatch from the palette, and set the opacity. Corners rounds all four together; unlink them to round only the two on the right.
Set the name and the role
Click the name. Its Text is field says Name (operator fills in): leave it, that is what makes the name a field you type each time you use the overlay. Change the font in Text, and the size. Do the same for the role line beneath it.
Choose how it enters
With the plate selected, pick Slide in under Animation. With nothing selected, press Build in order so the plate lands first and the text follows a beat later, then press Preview to watch it.
Save it
Name the design at the top and press Save design. The window closes and the gallery reopens on Lower Thirds with your design in it, marked Custom · Designed.
Put it on Program
On your design's tile choose Edit & apply…, type the name and role, and apply. It appears in the Overlays panel with its own switch; turn it on and it slides over the scene. Turn it off when the introduction is over.
Change it later
Right-click the tile and choose Edit design… to reopen it in the designer. Names you have already typed are not lost; the design and the words you fill in are kept apart.
Where to next
- Overlays for everything the designer can do, including binding text to the live verse or the clock.
- Try the Scripture category next: a panel designed here becomes a style your Scripture sources can wear.

Page through sermon notes on screen
Write the notes, give them a heading, show them to the room a page at a time, and send one sentence as a lower third.
