RheoCast

Run your first Sunday

From a fresh install to a rehearsed service, audio in, scripture on screen and a camera on Program, in about 45 minutes before the day.

By the end you will have RheoCast hearing the preacher, putting verses on the room's screen, a camera on Program in the Broadcast tab, and a rehearsal done on the same machine you will use on Sunday. Plan 45 minutes, on the service-day computer, with the service-day audio.

Before you start

  • RheoCast is installed and signed in: Setup & Installation
  • The preacher's microphone reaches this computer, directly or through the mixer
  • The projector or second display is connected, if you have one
  • You are online: live transcription needs the internet

Choose the microphone

Open Settings (the gear, or ⌘/Ctrl + ,) and select Audio. Pick the input the preacher's microphone arrives on, then speak into it and watch the Audio Monitor move. Aim for a level that peaks well below the top with a normal preaching voice, and save.

Set the translation

Close Settings. In Present › Live, the translation tabs sit just below the search bar: click the one your church reads from, and every detection, search result and projected verse uses it. More ▾ pins other translations to the row. To show two side by side, use the Compare switch beside Go Live. See Bible Translations.

Point the display at the projector

In Settings › Output, choose how scripture leaves the app: Windowed for a preview window you place yourself, or Fullscreen to fill the second display (Pro and Ministry plans). Save, and RheoCast reconfigures the display window. Display & Output covers NDI and browser sources for a switcher.

Hear the room

Back in Present › Live, press Start below the transcript (or Space). The header shows a red Live timer and, within about fifteen seconds, the transcript fills with what is said. Say a reference out loud: "Turn with me to John chapter three, verse sixteen." A detection chip appears within a few seconds.

Send it to the screen

Turn Go Live on in the Display Preview panel. Verses now reach the output you chose, not only the preview. With Auto Display on in the header, confident detections go up on their own; otherwise click Display on the chip. Press Escape to clear. Try the search bar too: type Romans 8:28 and press Enter.

Put a camera on Program

Switch to the Broadcast tab. Press + Add Source and add your Camera, then an Audio Input for the microphone so it becomes a channel in the mixer. Press + Add Scene, name it Preaching, place the camera to fill the frame, and save. Click the scene tab to put it in Preview, then press Cut (or Enter). Program now shows the camera. The Broadcast Console explains sources and scenes in full.

Add a scripture panel to the scene

Edit the Preaching scene, add a Scripture (Live) source and size it beside the camera. It shows whatever Present displays, so the stream and the room see the same verse at the same moment.

Rehearse

Run the whole thing once as if it were Sunday: transcription running, Go Live on, the scene on Program, a few verses spoken and cleared. Press Stop when you are done; the session is saved for Creator Studio.

Two different Go Live switches

The Go Live on the Display Preview sends scripture to your projector. The Go Live in the Broadcast tab starts a stream. Neither starts transcription; that is Start under the transcript.
