Page through sermon notes on screen
Write the notes, give them a heading, show them to the room a page at a time, and send one sentence as a lower third.
You will end with a note the preacher can follow on their own screen while the room reads it page by page, and one sentence sent over the camera as a lower third. About 10 minutes.
Before you start
- The display output is set up: Put scripture on the projector
- For the lower third, a scene is on Program in the Broadcast tab
Write the note
In Present › Notes, press New. The name in the list is yours for filing. Write the outline in the editor: headings, paragraphs, bullet points. It saves as you type.
Give it a heading for the room
At the top of the page, above the text, type the heading shown on screen, the title the congregation sees above every page. Leave it blank if you would rather not have one.
Show the first page
RheoCast splits the note into pages for you and shows the count beside the pager at the bottom. Turn Go Live on in the note's header so the display window opens, then press Show page. The page fills the screen; a lighter page grows to fill it, a full one reads at the standard size.
Step through as the preacher goes
Press › to show the next page and ‹ to go back. When the editor is not focused, → and ← do the same; from inside it, ⌘⇧N and ⌘⇧P (Ctrl on Windows). Press Esc to take the page down.
Put the notes on the preacher's screen
Press Pop out and drag the window to the confidence monitor. It stays in sync with yours, and its pager drives the room's screen too.
Send one sentence over the camera
Highlight a sentence and press ⌘⇧L (Ctrl+Shift+L). It appears as a lower third over whatever scene is on Program, with the heading above it, until you clear it. A lower third and a page can be up at the same time; Clear note takes both down.
Long paragraphs
A paragraph longer than a whole page cannot be split, so it takes a page of its own at a smaller size. Two shorter paragraphs read larger than one long one.
Where to next
- Notes for how pages are sized and how notes reach Program.
- Add the Sermon Note source to a scene in the Broadcast tab to show the page inside the scene, beside the camera.
Design your own lower third
Build a name plate in your church's colours in the overlay designer, save it to the gallery, and put it on Program with a name filled in.
Feed OBS or vMix
Keep the switcher you already use and let RheoCast supply the scripture, as a transparent lower third over NDI or a browser source.
