RheoCast

Put scripture on the projector

Get verses onto the room's screen as they are spoken, choose the display mode, and know what to press when detection misses one.

You will end with verses appearing on the projector while the preacher speaks, and the two manual fallbacks in your fingers. About 15 minutes.

Before you start

  • The projector or second display is connected before you open RheoCast
  • Audio is set up and transcription works: Run your first Sunday, steps 1 to 4

Choose the display mode

Open Settings › Output. Windowed gives you a window to drag onto the projector; Fullscreen fills the second display on its own (Pro and Ministry). Save; the display window reconfigures when you switch.

Settings › Output: the Display Output Mode choice

Make it look right for the room

In Settings › Appearance, set the background, the verse font and its size, and the reference line. The preview updates as you change them. Bigger than feels right on your monitor is usually right for the back row.

Go live on the display

In Present › Live, press Start to begin transcription, then turn Go Live on in the Display Preview panel. Until Go Live is on, verses reach the preview only.

Let detection do the work

Leave Auto Display on in the header. A high-confidence detection goes to the screen by itself, marked AUTO on its chip. A less certain one waits on its chip for one click on Display.

A detection chip with the AUTO badge, and the same verse on the projector

Know the two fallbacks

When a reference is missed, or the preacher says "that psalm we read earlier", type it: click the search bar, enter Psalm 23 and press Enter. To line verses up ahead of time, press Tab instead, which adds them to the Schedule, then present each with its play button. Scripture Search has the shorthand.

Clear the screen

Escape clears the verse. Press it when the preacher moves on so the room is not reading last point's text.

Fullscreen and the display order

Connect the projector before launching RheoCast. If the fullscreen window lands on the wrong screen, close it with Go Live, check the display arrangement in your operating system, and turn Go Live on again.

Where to next

  • Display & Output for NDI, browser sources and the appearance settings in full.
  • Feed OBS or vMix if your projector is fed by a switcher rather than this computer.
