RheoCast

Songs

Project song lyrics, build a setlist, and import your existing EasyWorship library.

Present › Songs projects lyrics the same way the Live sub-tab projects scripture: to your projector, your second screen, and into your broadcast.

Songs are free on every plan.

Adding songs

Create one with + New Song. A song has a title, optional author, year, CCLI number and copyright line, and its lyrics.

Lyrics are plain text. A divider line of three dashes, or a blank line, ends a section; a label on the first line of a section names it:

Verse 1
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
---
Chorus
...

The buttons above the lyrics box, Verse, Chorus, Pre-chorus, Bridge and Tag, put a divider and the label at the cursor, and Verse numbers itself. Divider on its own starts an unnamed section, which counts as a verse. Under the box, a line lists the sections as you type, so you can see the structure before you save. RheoCast recognises Verse, Chorus, Refrain, Pre-chorus, Bridge, Intro, Outro, Ending, Tag, Interlude, Coda and Vamp, short forms like v1 and c, and anything in square brackets.

Each section becomes a frame you step through. If a song repeats its chorus, turn on repeat chorus rather than pasting it again, RheoCast expands it for you.

Importing from EasyWorship

If you already run EasyWorship, you do not need to retype anything.

  1. + ImportEasyWorship
  2. Point RheoCast at your EasyWorship data folder. It needs both Songs.db and SongWords.db
  3. Review the preview and import

RheoCast reads the titles, authors, copyright lines and formatted lyrics, and skips songs that already exist in your library so you can import twice without creating duplicates.

Copyright: RheoCast records the copyright line that came with each song, and marks public-domain hymns as such. Importing does not grant you a licence, projecting copyrighted lyrics still requires the appropriate CCLI or equivalent coverage in your country.

Projecting

Select a song and click a frame to project it. Then:

  • Next / Previous step through frames
  • Blank clears the screen between songs without stopping
  • Setlist holds the songs for this service in order: add, remove and reorder before you start

If your church plans its services in ChurchCast, the setlist can be built from the plan instead of by hand: see Service Plans.

Songs and transcription are mutually exclusive. You cannot project lyrics while a transcription session is running. Stop transcription first. The app will tell you if you forget.

In your broadcast

Add a Lyrics (Live) source to a scene, or turn on the Lyrics overlay. Whatever you project in Present appears there automatically, so worship needs no separate operator in the Broadcast tab.
