Bible Translations
Free offline translations, importing your own Bibles, and how to pin translations for live services.
RheoCast includes multiple Bible translations so you can present scripture in the version your congregation expects.
Free Translations (Offline)
Eight Bible translations are bundled with the app and work completely offline — no internet required during a service:

Free translations are always available regardless of subscription tier or network status.
Premium Translations — Coming Soon
RheoCast launches with the free public-domain translations above. Premium licensed translations (such as NKJV, NIV, and NLT) are on the roadmap and will be offered in a future update on paid plans.
In the meantime, if you hold a licence for a translation you need, you can import it yourself (see below).
Import Your Own Translations
You can import Bible translations you have the right to use — for example a public‑domain version, a translation in your own language, or one you're licensed for. Importing is available on Pro, Ministry, and eligible ChurchCast plans.

How to import
- Open Settings → Bible → Imported Bibles.
- Click Import a Bible and choose your file.
- Review the detected name, language, and verse count.
- Confirm the rights attestation, then Import. The translation appears in your picker immediately — no restart needed.
Local‑only and private. Imported translations are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded, synced, or shared.
Copyright safeguards. RheoCast makes a good‑faith effort to prevent obvious infringement: it warns about well‑known copyrighted translations (NIV, NKJV, NLT, ESV, and others) — you must confirm you hold a valid licence before importing. You remain solely responsible for what you import and for how you display or broadcast it — much as worship‑music licensing is the responsibility of the church, not the software. Naming and voice detection. Give each import a Name and a short Abbreviation (e.g. "Twi Bible" / "TWI"). Both are what voice detection listens for — saying "give me Twi Bible version" or "switch to TWI" switches to it live — and the abbreviation is shown on the translation button instead of the internal code. Rename any time from Settings → Bible → Imported Bibles.
Switching Translations Live
During a live session:
- Use the translation tabs below the search bar in the Live view.
- Click a tab to switch the active translation.
- All new detections, search results, and display output use the selected translation immediately.
RheoCast may also auto-detect which translation the pastor is quoting from speech and switch tabs automatically.
Pinning Translations
Pin up to 8 translations for quick access during services:
- Click More ▾ next to the translation tabs.
- Check the versions you want pinned (e.g. KJV for the main display, NLT for reference).
- Pinned translations appear as tabs for one-click switching.
Your pinned selection is saved between sessions.
Which Translation Appears on Screen?
The active translation tab determines:
- Verse text on detection chips
- Manual search results
- Display / projector output
- Text search scope
Detection of references (book, chapter, verse) is translation-independent — only the displayed verse text changes when you switch translations.

The free bundled translations and any translations you import work fully offline — nothing is fetched over the network during a service.
Recommendations
- Pin your primary translation — Usually the version your pastor quotes from most.
- Pin a secondary translation — Useful for congregations that prefer a modern reading alongside a traditional one.
- Import ahead of time — If you rely on an imported translation, import and name it before service so it's ready in the picker.
